1. Citi PremierMiles Card
Citi Premier Miles Card
Annual Fee: S$194.40 (with the option of a first-year fee waiver)
Minimum Income: $30,000 (Singaporean/PR) / $42,000 (non-Singaporean)
If you’re on a mission to collect miles for your next vacation, consider applying for the Citi PremierMiles Card. This is one of the few cards with which you can earn miles on bills like tax payments, insurance premiums, and utilities – categories typically excluded by other banks.
This credit card offers a higher-than-average 1.2 local MPD and between 2 to 10 MPD on overseas and travel-related transactions. There’s no limit to the expiry-free miles you can earn, and Citibank has an excellent range of airline partners you can redeem your miles with.
Best for: Frequent flyers hunting the best value for their hard-earned miles.
Citibank gives you a longer runway to accumulate miles for your trips and has more frequent flyer partners than most other banks.
2. Standard Chartered Smart Credit Card
Standard Chartered Smart Card
Annual Fee: $0
Minimum Income Requirement: S$30,000 per year (Singaporean/PR); S$60,000 (foreigner)
No annual fee, no minimum spend, and a 6% cashback rate in the form of Rewards Points on everyday transactions like public transport, Spotify, Netflix, Toast Box, and Subway.
If you’re a current Standard Chartered customer, you’ll also earn points on your portfolio of Standard Chartered products like your mortgage, deposits, and online transactions. (Just be sure you’re not a Standard Chartered credit card holder while you’re at it if you want to maximise the promotions.)
Best for: Public transport users, digital streaming subscribers, and those who frequent fast food and local coffee spots.
If you regularly shop at Standard Chartered’s list of selected merchants, this is a low-maintenance rewards card.
3. CIMB Visa Signature Credit Card
CIMB Visa Signature Card
Annual Fee: None
Minimum Income Requirement: S$30,000 per year (Singaporean/PR)
It’s not every day that you come across a 10% cashback rate, but that’s what you’ll get with the CIMB Visa Signature. Eligible categories include beauty & wellness, online shopping, groceries, pet shops & veterinary services, and – for some reason – cruises.
You’ll notice that entertainment and dining categories aren’t included, but we’re not complaining: there are other cards that offer cashback on those. In any case, there’s a cashback cap of S$100 per month (S$20 per category), so this card is best combined with other high-rebate options anyway.
All other retail purchases will earn 0.2% cashback (with no minimum spend or monthly cap).
Best for: Pet owners and online shoppers.
4. Citi Cash Back+ Card
Citi Cash Back+ Card
Annual Fee: S$194.40 (first year fee waiver)
Minimum Income Requirement: S$30,000 per year (Singaporean/PR); S$42,000 (foreigner)
If you’re looking for a simple, low-maintenance unlimited cashback card, the Citi Cash Back+ Card may fit the bill. You’ll get 1.6% cashback on almost all spending – with the exclusion of certain categories like bill payments, school fees, and prepaid card top-ups.
That 1.6% rate is neither the best nor the worst rate on the market: you’ll find the Citi Cash Back+ Card sits neatly in the middle of the range. But combine that with the card promotions and it’s an enticing offer.
Best for: Those expecting big purchases that other cashback cards wouldn’t cover – or those who don’t want to have to track their spending while still accumulating cashback.
5. American Express Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Credit Card
American Express KrisFlyer Card
Annual Fee: S$178.20 (first year fee waiver)
Minimum Income Requirement: S$30,000 per year (Singaporean/PR); S$45,000 (foreigner)
If you’re a big fan of Singapore Airlines, the AMEX SIA KrisFlyer Credit Card is a fuss-free option allowing you to earn KrisFlyer miles that are credited directly into your account – no conversion fees needed.
This card doesn’t have the most competitive MPD earn rates in the market, but it has some of the best promotional offers for avid travellers.
Best for: SIA loyalists who want to maximise the KrisFlyer miles they’re earning with promotional offers.
6. HSBC Revolution Card
HSBC Revolution Credit Card
Annual Fee: None
Minimum Income Requirement: S$30,000 per year (Singaporean/PR); S$40,000 (foreigner)
The HSBC Revolution Card is a no-frills rewards card that doles out HSBC Rewards Points for things most Singaporeans already do, like online shopping and travelling.
This card offers 10X Rewards Points (or 4 miles per dollar) on online and contactless spending. For everything else, you earn 1X Reward points for each dollar spent.
There’s no minimum spend requirement, but your bonus Rewards Points are capped at 9,000 a month – which means you should charge only up to S$1,000 on this card per month if you want to maximise your Rewards Points.
Best for: Online shoppers and those who frequently use contactless payments.
It’s especially suited for young Singaporeans who just started working, since there’s no pressure to spend. It’s also a great card for weekend getaways since you’ll get complimentary travel insurance coverage when you charge your airfare to the card.
7. CIMB Visa Infinite Credit Card
CIMB Visa Infinite Card
Annual Fee: None
Minimum Income Requirement: S$120,000 per year (Singaporean/PR) or Fixed Deposit Collateral of S$50,000
Most of us don’t splurge on expensive vacations every month. Still, there are occasions when you just need to get away. Who could say no to getting cashback on plane tickets and overseas shopping?
That’s where this credit card can come in handy. Like any CIMB card, it charges no annual fees, so you won’t lose out even if you’re not using it for a period. But if you do happen to be booking a trip in excess of S$2,000 in a particular month, you’ll qualify for 2% unlimited cashback.
That, or you can use this card to go on a online shopping spree at foreign stores.
Best for: Travellers and/or those who love shopping at foreign stores online.
8. UOB EVOL Card
UOB Evol Credit Card
Annual Fee: S$194.40 (automatic fee waiver if you make 3 purchases per month for 12 months)
Minimum Income: $30,000 (Singaporean/PR) / $40,000 (non-Singaporean)
Formerly the UOB YOLO, the UOB EVOL Card is an easy-to-use cashback card for young professionals. The minimum required spend is an achievable S$600 per month and eligible categories include all mobile contactless and online spending.
There’s a cashback cap of $60 ($20 per category), so you’ll have to do a bit of micromanaging to make sure you’re only spending up to S$250 with the online and mobile payment categories. But it’s easy enough to automate those if, say, you use this as the default card for App Store payments and online shopping, for example.
All other transactions earn you 0.3% cashback.
UOB EVOL Card is also the first in the region to offer over 1,000 sustainable deals on dining and shopping for the eco-conscious consumer.
Best for: Young digitally savvy adults who transact mostly online or pay via contactless methods.
9. DBS Altitude Card
DBS Altitude Card Visa Signature
Annual Fee: S$194.40 (first year fee waiver)
Minimum Income Requirement: S$30,000 per year (Singaporean/PR); S$45,000 (foreigner)
If you have a DBS Multiplier Account, you already know that you’ll maximise your interest by getting more DBS products – including a DBS credit card. That makes the DBS Altitude Card a good addition to the travel-savvy spender’s wallet.
The DBS Altitude offers a decent 1.2 MPD on local spend and 2 MPD on overseas spend, but the real appeal is in its partnerships with Kaligo and Expedia. You’ll get 6 MPD on flight and hotel transactions at Expedia and a cool 10 MPD on hotel transactions with Kaligo. Even if you don’t go with either of those, you’ll get 3 MPD on any online flight and hotel transactions (capped at S$5,000 monthly).
DBS Points earned don’t expire, so you can take as long as you want storing up those miles. You can easily convert the points into miles with KrisFlyer or any of the DBS partner airlines.
Best for: Young working adults who enjoy shopping for the best flight and hotel deals.
10. HSBC Visa Platinum Credit Card
HSBC Visa Platinum Credit Card
Annual Fee: S$194.40 (two year fee waiver)
Minimum Income Requirement: S$30,000 per year (Singaporean/PR); S$40,000 (foreigner)
Designed for families with children, the HSBC Visa Platinum Card offers 5% cashback on dining, groceries, and fuel. You’ll earn 1 Reward Point per dollar spent and get access to exclusive Shopee discounts to products for babies and kids.
Shoppers must spend at least S$600 every month in a quarter to enjoy the 5% cashback rates. Cashback is capped at S$250 every quarter, which is about S$83/month.
Like the HSBC Revolution Card, you’ll get S$30 cashback for every supplementary card (max five). Combined with the categories eligible for cashback, that makes the HSBC Visa Platinum best if you have multiple family members who need credit cards.
Best for: Families with a car, as you’ll get the most out of this card with local dining, groceries, and fuel.
