Those who shop at luxury retailers in the 10Xcelerator program, including names like:
- Manolo Blahnik
- Moschino
- Montblanc
- Piaget
- TAG Heuer
You’ll get 10X points per S$1.60 (or 3.4 MPD) in spending at these merchants. Points never expire, and there’s no minimum spend or cap for the 10X rewards. (Don’t use the card at just any luxury store tho; make sure they’re on the Xcelerator list, or you’ll only get 2X points.)
2. CIMB World Mastercard
CIMB World Mastercard
Minimum Age | 21 yrs old | Income Req. | $30,000 annually |
Annual Fee | None | Fee Waiver | N/A |
Supplementary Card(s) | None | Minimum Spend Required | S$1,000 monthly |
This is an oddly designed card, to be honest.
First, you’ve got an entry-level S$30,000 annual income requirement.
But half the spending categories are for things you’re not likely to spend on with an entry-level card – like luxury goods and automobile sales & repairs.Still, it’s free. So if you do get the occasional urge to splurge on a new Prada handbag or TAG Heuer watch, you may as well put it on this card. You’ll get an unlimited 2% cashback, provided you meet the S$1,000 minimum spend for that month.
Best For
Those with vehicles (repairs, accessories, and supply shop purchases all count towards 2% cashback) or a fondness for luxury goods. Unlike the AMEX Platinum Card, your luxury good purchases won’t be limited to just those in an approved list.
3. Citi Rewards Card
Citi Rewards Card
Minimum Age | 21 yrs old | Income Req. | S$30,000 annually |
Annual Fee | $194.40 | Fee Waiver | One year |
Supplementary Card(s) | $97.20 | Minimum Spend Required | None |
Citibank is generous with their welcome perks, so it’s worth considering one of their cards for at least the first year.
You’ll need to spend at least S$800 in the first two months to qualify for the welcome offer, but that should be easy enough. Purchases at “any store that sells shoes, bags, and clothes as its main business activity” count for 10X Rewards, capped at S$1,000 spending monthly.
You can also use this card for Grab/Gojek rides along with your online food and grocery delivery orders.
